TEAM SELECTION

RECENT FORM

As touched on during the week, Geelong's form has been absolutely outstanding in 2026.

After dropping their opening game of the year, the Cats have reeled off seven straight wins to ascend to third position on the ladder.

With an average of 70 points per game, they are now the highest scoring team in the competition, with an average winning margin of 35 points.

The complete opposite has happened to GWS in 2026, winning their opening game of the year before losing seven in a row, now sitting in 15th on the ladder.

Despite their record however, the Giants have lost four games by nine points or less, including their last three in a row.

LAST TIME WE MET

2025, Round 9 - Geelong 11.6 (72) def. GWS Giants 6.9 (45)

The two sides squared off in the corresponding clash last year, with the Cats kicking away late to secure a 27-point win at GMHBA Stadium.

Scores were locked deep in the third term, but Geelong finished with a flurry booting six of the last seven goals to stave off a strong challenge from the visitors.

Georgie Prespakis led the way with 24 disposals, eight clearances and two goals, while Mikayla Bowen also impressed with 23 disposals and a goal.

Chantal Mason was the dominant force up forward, kicking a game-high three goals and all three majors coming in the Cats' big finish.
