Another week has brought yet another victory for Geelong's high-flying AFLW team, with the Cats defeating Richmond by 34 points on Friday night to notch their seventh straight win.

The four points did not come without significant challenges, as the Cats staved off a strong opening half from the Tigers and blustery conditions at IKON Park, before kicking away in the second half to continue their red-hot form.

Geelong controlled plenty of the play in their front half and dominated the inside 50 count (+23), but it was Chloe Scheer who proved to be the difference with another three-goal haul, also adding seven score involvements in a sensational display.

Chantal Mason (21 disposals) impressed in one of her best games for the club, Georgie Prespakis (28 disposals) continued her remarkable 2026 season with another outstanding performance, while Nina Morrison's (26 disposals) impact was profound through the middle of the ground.

A lively contest unfolded early as both teams looked electric in transition, but with the winds swirling at IKON Park, neither side could find any significant impact on the scoreboard and the Cats clawed their way to a narrow two point lead at quarter time.

Chloe Scheer hit the scoreboard for the seventh consecutive week with a goal, having a hand in all three of Geelong's scores in the opening term and looking dangerous every time the Cats entered attack.

Play continued in a similar fashion in the second term, Geelong slipped behind early and scoring continued to be hard to come by, but the Cats finished the quarter strongly and Jasmin Stewart nailed a set shot after the siren, extending their lead to seven points at the main break.

Georgie Prespakis and Nina Morrison were up to their usual tricks, with the star duo collecting 33 disposals, eight clearances and seven score involvements between them in the opening half.

Playing a variety of roles across the ground, Chantal Mason produced one of her best halves of football at the elite level with 12 disposals, two score involvements and two intercept possessions.

Geelong had dominated general play for large portions of the first half and it largely went unrewarded, but that changed in the third term as they started to capitalise on their hard work, Scheer bagging two more majors to push the lead to 29 points at the final change.

With the damage done, the Cats continued to lock down defensively and kept Richmond scoreless in the entire second half, closing out a strong 34-point win at IKON Park.
