Lucy Marescuk has been recognised for her outstanding 2026 campaign, claiming Geelong's VFLW Best and Fairest on Thursday night. 

Coming into the year with only five VFLW games under her belt, Marescuk shone from the opening match of the season and went on to play 14 matches, averaging a brilliant 19.9 disposals and 6.6 tackles per game. 

Finishing the year in strong form, she recorded a career-high 30 disposals in Geelong's clash with Tasmania, while also leading the Cats for inside 50s in a terrific year. 

Marescuk polled 169 votes to finish on top of the leaderboard, with Mekah Morrissy (96 votes) claiming second position and Annie Lee (84 votes) taking out third. 

Morrissy was excellent for the Cats this year, averaging 16.3 disposals per game and leading Geelong for tackles, while also driving plenty of the team's ball movement throughout the season. 

Prior to being added to Geelong's AFLW list, Annie Lee excelled in the VFLW with an average of 18.2 disposals, 5.4 marks and 4.8 tackles per game. 

Nikita Harris also clinched the Cats' goal kicking award after booting 14 goals for the season, while Brooke Borchard won the Hoops Award, recognising the player who best demonstrates care for her teammates’ wellbeing, champions the Club’s and team’s values, works for the greater good of the Club, and positively engages in all aspects of the program.
