Geelong has confirmed their initial squad for Sunday's AFLW clash with Essendon at GMHBA Stadium.

The Cats have added seven players to the extended squad, including Kate Surman and Sienna Tallariti, while Annie Lee and Jasmin Stewart have also been included and could play their first game for the club this weekend.

The only confirmed inclusion at this stage is Renee Morgan, after it was announced earlier on Thursday that the talented midfielder will make her AFLW debut against the Bombers.

Geelong VFLW players Simone Nalder and Mekah Morrissy have also been added to the squad as top up players, following recent injuries to the Cats AFLW team.

The Cats have four confirmed outs through injury with Zali Friswell, Priya Bowering, Piper Dunlop and Emma Kilpatrick all set to miss this weekend. See Geelong's AFLW Health Update for more information.

Geelong will confirm their final team at 5.00pm AEST on Friday afternoon, with five players to be named on the interchange and the remaining three to be emergencies.
