O'Sullivan on being named in the All Australian squad
I was obviously pretty shocked, I honestly didn't really expect it.
For me, I haven't really looked at that sort of stuff throughout the year.
Being pretty young and that sort of stuff, I have just been trying to focus on improving my game week to week.
Like I said, I was very shocked but I am obviously very grateful as well.Â
O'Sullivan on the recognition
I think it is probably a reflection of the group that we have got in the backline.
There was probably a couple of names that were stiff to miss out, we also had a bunch of other young talent like Max, Bailey and Ollie make the squad as well. I think it speaks to the group as a whole and how we are tracking, and how we have been tracking throughout the year.
It is nice to get the individual recognition, but at the same time, for us four to be able to that, it takes a whole team to support us in our roles.
We have been able to do that really well across the year, and have set ourselves well for a Finals campaign as well.Â
O'Sullivan on what he changed this year
Probably just spending more time at the club and a bit of continuity in what I do week to week.
I think I am starting to get a good idea of what my best week and prep looks like for games, but also in the pre-season, it was just about getting to work. I feel like we have got a really good cohort, I know I was just touching on that, but I feel like we really drive each other in the pre-season.
Obviously the older guys are always going to drive the standards and have been doing so for a long time, but I feel like we have got a really good, strong group of young guys as well that have been driving it too.
I think it probably just allows us to elevate our game year to year and expect more of each other, which is obviously super exciting.Â
O'Sullivan on Finals Footy
It is obviously a really exciting prospect.
As a footy fan, you probably have to love it, the fact that we don't really know who we are playing until the end of the weekend.
It will be a super exciting weekend, obviously nicer that we still get the week off and can relax, to sit back as a genuine footy spectator.
We will probably turn our eyes to whoever we play on Monday and that will be the focus.
But for this week, it is just about getting back to reflecting on the last couple of weeks, what we think we can take into Finals as our weapons and also fine tuning a bit of our game so we are ready to go next Friday night.Â
O'Sullivan on the VFL Finals
In my first year as well, we had a good push in the Finals series in the VFL.
It will be super exciting for us AFL boys to look on, and get the opportunity to really get around them in the first Final this weekend. It is a good opportunity when we aren't playing to support them, and show that we are one club.
We really want to support those guys and as much as they want to push for the AFL Finals campaign, it is also important to celebrate the work they are doing in the VFL.
We have obviously got a really strong group down there, especially the younger boys. Some of the older boys in Jed, Jack and Rhys are really driving that group as well.
It is going to be a super exciting campaign for both AFL and VFL, and hopefully we can come away with a bit of silverware for everyone.Â
