The Cats' 53-point triumph over Casey has clinched the VFL minor premiership, continuing their outstanding run of form with a 12th consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon.
Despite challenging conditions with the wind constantly changing throughout the afternoon, the Cats adapted brilliantly, combining slick ball movement with relentless pressure to control the contest from the opening bounce.
Winning the first centre clearance and inside 50 of the game, Geelong wasted little time asserting itself. Jacob Molier opened the scoring before adding a second major later in the term, while the Cats' precise kicking and quick ball movement repeatedly cut through the Demons' defence.
Tanner Lewis added another goal before Jamieson Ballantyne provided one of the highlights of the afternoon, soaring high for a spectacular mark before calmly converting. Jack Martin snapped truly late in the quarter, with Jesse Mellor also hitting the scoreboard as Geelong built an impressive early advantage. Jack Bowes was influential around the contest, collecting 10 disposals and three clearances in a dominant opening term.
Casey responded with increased intensity to begin the second quarter, applying plenty of pressure around the stoppages, but the Cats remained composed. Joe Pike stood tall in the ruck with eight disposals, four clearances and 15 hit outs, while Hunter Holmes continued his strong form through the midfield with 10 disposals and a clearance.
Jed Henderson extended Geelong's lead with his first goal of the afternoon before Jack Martin produced a memorable finish to the half. After a holding-the-ball free kick moments before the siren, Martin calmly converted after the siren to send the Cats into the main break with a 15-point advantage.
Geelong took complete control after half-time, dominating the key statistical categories by winning the disposal count, kicking efficiency, handball count and inside 50 battle. Their ability to maintain possession and transition the ball efficiently left Casey chasing for much of the third term.
Martin added his third goal before Ballantyne again thrilled with another courageous aerial grab, hanging in the air before converting his second major. Ben Pennisi joined the goal scorers before George Stevens capped off the dominant quarter with a goal of his own as Geelong stretched its lead heading into the final change.
The Cats put any hopes of a Casey comeback to bed almost immediately in the last quarter, with Jesse Mellor kicking a goal just 15 seconds after the opening bounce. Geelong's pressure never dropped throughout the afternoon, forcing repeat turnovers and continuing to create scoring opportunities.
Mellor added another after taking a brilliant high-flying mark, Pennisi finished off a running goal, while Tanner Lewis also found the big sticks as the Cats stormed home to complete a comprehensive 53-point victory.
Bowes was outstanding through the midfield, finishing with 34 disposals and 11 clearances, while George Stevens continued his excellent season with 32 disposals, six clearances and a goal. Nick Driscoll again impressed across half-back with 25 disposals, four marks and two clearances.
Up forward, Jack Martin starred with four goals from 14 disposals and four marks, while Ballantyne, Jesse Mellor and Jacob Molier each provided multiple highlights as Geelong's forward line fired throughout another dominant team performance.
