Scott on facing Steven King 

I have said a few times, I really respect and rate the job that Kingy has done at Melbourne and I guess we feel, I am not sure if proud is the right description, but I see a little bit of Geelong in the way Melbourne play.

Clearly, I like it, but a big part of that is to be respectful of the opposition and understand as well as you possibly can what they do, and what you can't allow them to do. But don't get so caught up in what they do that you forget to play your own game.

That is what I mean when I say, the bigger risk is that the two clubs get caught up in it, because he knows this therefore we should do that. Then you end up with confused players.

But I guess the difficult thing for us is, he will pass through that stuff well because he is good at his job. 

Scott on covering injuries

A fair bit, but I wouldn't frame it as how do we manipulate it to cover those guys?

I would prefer to frame it as how do we think about it, with a completely different lens on what we can be?

I have never really subscribed to the theory that it is one really important player out, so we have got to find a guy to fill his role. That is not the way we think about our team, we think about the individual strengths a bit more and how they would impact the overall make-up of the team.

It is interesting, because we are playing a team who is coached by a guy who knows us intimately. But I don't think he has ever thought about us that much without Cameron or Holmes, so we will be different.

Because of that different personnel, we will play slightly differently. 

Scott on Tanner Bruhn

Tanner has been a really positive addition to our side this year.

As anticipated, his consistency hasn't been where we think it will be in subsequent years.

The part that I didn't quite anticipate is how good his best bits were going to be, I thought it was going to be a bit tougher for him to find his feet again after missing so much footy.

He is someone that can come in and play quite a few different roles for us.

If you held a gun to my head and asked where is he going to be playing in six months time, around the start of next season, I am not sure I could answer it. In my mind it is a good thing, it speaks more to his flexibility. 

Scott on Max Holmes and Jeremy Cameron

So I think there is only two outcomes post-surgery that I am aware of in my time in footy. It was either a disaster and they found more than they had hoped, or the surgeon is really happy and it went well.

It is the latter this time. It went as expected, Max is actually really optimistic and positive. So is Jeremy, for that matter.

So this is one where I can actually talk about them concurrently, because they basically have the same return to play period. Jeremy is a bit more likely to come back before Max, but it is pretty tight.

So we are just leaving all options on the table, it is one where we would be really straight forward if it was clear that it was season over, but it is not the case for either of them.

Again, it gives us some room for optimism. 

Scott on where Oisin Mullin might go

It almost sort of defies logic and again, it speaks to the quality of the job that Kingy and his team, and the whole football department at Melbourne have done.

It is very rare that you lose players of the ilk of Petracca and Oliver, then very early in the season make the assessment that our midfield is probably going better.

I know it is more complicated than that, and Pickett is probably in the top handful of players in the competition at the moment. But he is different to a lot of the genuine midfielders, he doesn't play exactly the same way.

Obviously we have thought about it a bit, but because we knew we weren't playing them until relatively late, I have just enjoyed the work that Kingy has been doing and being able to watch Pickett as a fan.
