The Geelong Football Club is proud to announce that a group of AFLW Cats will be recognised for their service with Life Membership, at the club's Hall of Fame event in July.

Julia Crockett-Grills, Nina Morrison, Georgie Rankin, Amy McDonald, Becky Webster, Meg McDonald and Maddy McMahon will all be inducted as Life Members, joining Kate Darby and Renee Garing as Geelong's AFLW Life Members.

Six of the seven players are inaugural Cats and featured in Geelong's first ever AFLW match, with all seven having a significant impact during their time at the Club.

They will join the previous Hall of Fame announcement, with Gary Ablett Junior set to be elevated to Legend Status on the night, while Joel Selwood and Mark 'Bomber' Thompson will be inducted into Geelong's Hall of Fame.

Nina Morrison and Becky Webster speak on being named as Co-Captains for the 2026 season. Proudly Presented by Ford Australia and Deakin University.

Crockett-Grills has been an integral part of the Geelong team for an extended period of time, featuring in the Cats' inaugural AFLW match and continuing to be a vital asset up until the present day.

Able to play a variety of roles, the versatile Cat was particularly influential on a wing with the ability to roll forward and hit the scoreboard, featuring in 72 games up until the end of 2025 which is the second most AFLW appearances by any Geelong player.

Morrison was Geelong's inaugural AFLW draft selection, taken with the first pick in the 2018 draft before going on to immediately become one of the competition's best young talents.

The star on-baller claimed Geelong's 2024 best and fairest award and was selected in the All-Australian squad in the same year, now named as one of the Cats' co-captains for the upcoming 2026 season.

Georgie Rankin was recruited as a cross-code rookie before the 2019 season and continued the legacy of the Rankin name at Geelong, following in the footsteps of ancestors like Teddy, Cliff, Doug and Bert Rankin, who all played for Geelong in the VFL.

She has been an exceptional player in her own right, making a name as a defender but also being able to push up the ground when required, finishing the 2025 season with 66 games to her name.

Also having a significant impact off the field, Rankin is a two-time winner of the Cats' AFLW Carter Family Community Champion Award, which recognises her work with Geelong's community programs and external organisations.

Amy McDonald was selected with pick 80 in the 2019 draft after spending time with Geelong's VFLW team, but she quickly became perhaps the most decorated AFLW player at the Cats.

After debuting in 2020, McDonald won her first club best and fairest award in 2021, before going on to win it in 2022 Season 6 and Season 7, making it three consecutive best and fairest triumphs.

The star on-baller was also selected in the 2022 Season 7 All-Australian team, firmly cementing her position as one of the games top players.

Geelong's AFLW games record holder and new co-captain alongside Nina Morrison, Becky Webster has had a profound impact during her time with the Cats.

Selected with pick 7 in the 2028 draft, shortly after Morrison, Webster initially made a name for herself as a midfielder, before settling across half back and becoming one of the most damaging rebounding players in the competition.

She recorded a fourth place finish in the 2024 Geelong best and fairest, finishing the 2025 season with a club-record 73 games in the Hoops and set to lead the team into the upcoming 2026 campaign.

Maddy McMahon was another who made her AFLW debut in Geelong's inaugural game in 2019, going on to feature in four seasons and having a substantial influence in the Cats' formative years in the competition.

Selected in an All-Australian squad and recording a third placed finish in Geelong's best and fairest, McMahon was a brilliant defender with a well-renowned ability to read the play and intercept, before retiring at the end of 2022 Season 6.

Last but certainly not least is Meg McDonald, one of the greatest leaders the club has ever seen and a true icon of the blue and white hoops.

After starting her career with the Western Bulldogs, McDonald joined the Cats ahead of their inaugural season and went on to finish with 76 AFLW games across her career, 72 of those for Geelong.

A brilliant defender, McDonald was selected in two All-Australian teams and won Geelong's 2019 best and fairest, also becoming the Cats' longest-serving captain from 2021 until the conclusion of her career at the end of 2025.
