Friday Night at the Cattery is shaping up to be one of the most memorable events in the Club's history, as Geelong prepares for the White Out Game at GMHBA Stadium as they take on the Gold Coast Suns in a blockbuster clash.
With the grandstands blanketed in white, rally towels being waved and the Geelong faithful in full voice, it has quickly become one of the first games circled on the calendar for Cats fans everywhere, a sight unlike any other in Australian sports.
In the build up to Friday night's match, Geelong stars Connor O'Sullivan, Lawson Humphries and Shaun Mannagh debated on the latest episode of 'The Cats Corner' what has been the loudest crowd they have ever played in front of.
There were a plethora of options, with Geelong fortunate enough to be involved in some memorable matches in recent history, ranging from last year's Qualifying Final victory to an Easter Monday classic earlier this year.
With Friday night expected to rival even the most electric atmospheres that the Cats have been a part of, it sparked an intriguing discussion on the podcast as the trio shared their thoughts.
"I distinctly remember in my first year, the Prelim against Brisbane," Humphries opened.
"Ollie Henry kicked a goal to put us up, and I reckon the roar from that goal was the loudest I have ever heard it. I would say that, that was just insane.
"Unfortunately we didn't win it obviously, but that was the loudest I've ever heard."
Shaun Mannagh had some slightly different matches in mind.
"I am finding it very hard to pick, because we have been very lucky that a lot of games either here or at the 'G have been extremely loud," Mannagh said.
"Any of the Finals there, Easter Monday this year when Hawthorn won, again we were on the wrong side of it but I think the stadium was shaking. It was incredibly loud."
"Mine on the good end would have been the Qualifying Final last year," O'Sullivan contributed.
"When we had the momentum, the crowd was going. There were a couple of controversial things and the crowd was really into it, it was incredible but in a good way.
"I was talking to Mitch Edwards after the Easter Monday game and it was his first game on the 'G, he had the last centre bounce of the game and I have never heard a distinct crowd so loud in that one moment.
"That was the loudest in one moment that it has ever been, but for persistence it would have been the Qualifying Final."
Geelong's White Out Game will be an incredible initiative that brings the players and fans in the stands together, creating a remarkable cauldron as the Cats take on the Suns on Friday night.
To celebrate the event, the Cats will be wearing a specially designed guernsey and fans attending will receive a rally towel thanks to Ecosa, helping every patron to get involved in the event.
Geelong fans are also encouraged to wear white to further add to the atmosphere, with a number of other exciting activations planned throughout the evening. Take a look at the Cats' White Out Hub for more information.
O'Sullivan, Mannagh and Humphries discussed the game and the initiative on the podcast, noting that it is something they have never really seen before throughout their footballing journeys.
"It is something I have never seen since I have been at the Club," O'Sullivan said.
"I reckon it is incredible, it is so simple but the concept of it, being an American sports fan and seeing all of those different initiatives that they do at College games.
"To have our own version of that probably feels a little bit surreal in a way. Last year we didn't get the four points, but the atmosphere and how incredible it was, it is so cool."
"I do love the courage though of the Club to double down on it as well," Humphries added.
"It was a unique thing to do last year, I didn't even really know that it was a thing in the U.S. I just think it is so clever and creative, a lot of people probably don't like it because we lost last time.
"But I just think it is so cool, so unique."
