RECENTLY re-signed midfielder Mitch Duncan says he’s well on the way to overcoming the knee injury that prematurely ended his 2019 season.

Duncan, who extended his contract until the end of 2024 last night, is making strides towards full training participation which he hopes to re-join around Christmas.

“It’s a bit of a slow build until then but the knee’s feeling really good,” Duncan says.

“I’ve started agility and a little bit of footy content Tuesday and we’ll just build from there now.”

“It was a pretty severe injury, we probably kept it under wraps a little bit – it was a grade three medial so it’s just a matter of time now.”

While Duncan avoided surgery on his knee, the silky-skilled midfielder went under the knife to repair the AC joint of his shoulder which he injured in round 23 against Carlton.

“That’s pretty much nearly back to normal now as well so it’s just building strength around there now,” he said.

“We’ve got a long period of time to get it right so that’s always handy.”
