Cameron on the early bye

Yeah it is interesting, it was nice.

We were meant to have it last year but because of the cyclone game, it sort of changed for us. It is definitely different having a bye in Round 2, I don't know if I love it or hate it yet.

I got away wood cutting so I love that side of it, it was nice to go camping with my little girl. At the same time, it is nice to play consistent footy and get into a bit of a footy routine.

It is an interesting start the year just with Easter Monday for us as well, it is a bigger break again.

Cameron on the challenge against Adelaide

There is a bit of talk around how they chip the ball the around and build the ball up, all that sort of stuff. There is plenty to talk about at the start of the year, we are all just keen to have footy back.

I feel like there is a bit more noise than there probably should be, but they are a very good team. We know that, we saw that last year, they finished on top of the ladder for a reason.

They play a good, flexible brand of football, they have got important players all over the field and they are going to be hard to beat.

We are looking forward to Thursday night footy, something that I really enjoy and love.

It is a great challenge to have them over and try to get the win, hopefully we can have plenty of people out with our home crowd and it is always nice to see GMHBA Stadium full.

Cameron on his recovery from injury

I think the bye was definitely spoken about and it was something I took into my calculations.

Having the quad and being very, very close in Opening Round but knowing that I could through the game against Fremantle to get the run in the legs, but then have a bye. Sometimes that second game can be difficult.

The first one you are always fresh, but then not playing footy for a while and the contact side of things, not having contact for most of the summer and then suddenly you are thrust into playing an AFL game.

The follow up game can be difficult at times, but to have the bye was nice for me to freshen up again.

I could get the load through the body and the legs, we still trained hard and tried to replicate some match simulation.

Cameron on Geelong's fixture

I think it is a great challenge.

That is the first thing you look at with our schedule, I couldn't tell you who we play after the Bulldogs onwards. Everyone says you look one week ahead, but I sort of look at it as a month or so and see who we are coming up against.

I don't really look too much further than that, but it is no secret that it is a pretty challenging start to the season.

But what better way to see where you are at?

That has been our focus throughout the summer, we want to build and become a better team than we were last year. You have to play these teams at some point and we might as well play them early and see where we are at.

Cameron on Tyson Stengle

He has been training really well, he has been going really well. He is in and around the club all the time which is great.

As we have always said the entire way along, it is always arms around him and support him, then hopefully we can get him back playing some really good football.

He has been training really well, match play that we had on Friday that I mentioned, he trained really well and played very well.

It is exciting for him and I am looking forward to having him back in the side whenever that is, he is a great character to have around and we know how dangerous he is with football in hand.
