Lowther on team selection

It is still to be worked out.

As I said earlier in the week to the group, we have got a great list to choose from this week. We are really healthy which is great, so everyone is pushing for selection.

We have got a captains run today, a scrimmage game tomorrow in Melbourne as well.

There is a little bit to get through today in terms of training, then we will select a side off the back of this.

Lowther on Chloe Scheer

It has been a journey, clearly her story has been well publicised around the fact that she has missed such a big chunk of footy.

Out of courtesy to her and the delicacy around her rehab, it has been one of those ones where we just couldn't put a time frame on it. She has been working really hard behind the scenes to try and get to a point where she can start to up her loads, and up her training habits.

It has taken time and here we are now, the last six weeks where she started to make some significant gains in regards to getting on the track and doing things. In small steps clearly, but the last fortnight has seen her join in main sessions and do more around contest work, playing her role as a forward.

Those signs have been really promising and she has been pulling up pretty well off the back of it. She has put herself in the mix, probably a little bit earlier than what we thought.

Lowther on the trip to Perth

A lot of recovery focus, there is always an eye on the next game which is important.

We planned this week to back off a bit with training, off the weekend against the Giants which was a pretty physical game. It comes back to what we have done this week to plan around it, the weather as well is going to be nice and warm over in Perth.

We just backed off slightly, but we will do some work over in Western Australia this afternoon as well, just to get the legs moving and to get ready for tomorrow night.

Hopefully we will bunker down somewhere in the shade, while we have got six or seven hours to wait. Using that time to recover and get ready for what will be a great game, against a team that is on the rise and playing pretty consistent footy.

Lowther on West Coast's improvement

I am not surprised, we have played them the last couple of years and it is always a tough game.

Aishling Moloney had a great game against them last year, but that is the kind of performance that was needed to get us across the line. It was among others on the day of course, because they have got such a great depth of talent.

Their midfield is really strong, they are defending really well as a team across the competition. When they go forward, they are a bit of a threat up front as well. We know that across all three lines, that we have got our work cut out for us.

They are playing consistent footy, I have just loved their run. They are a really strong running team, Ella Roberts has clearly been heralded as a great player across the competition, but she is just a catalyst to their performance.

They are a good, fun team to watch so I am looking forward to testing our ability to deny them their strengths, to see if we can get the game on our terms.
