Geelong Cats will unveil ruck recruit Caitie Tipping for the first time in Sunday’s clash with Carlton at GMHBA Stadium.
Tipping joined the Cats ahead of the 2025 NAB AFLW Season as an Other Sport Rookie, crossing over from elite volleyball, where she had represented Australia on the world stage.
Standing at 190cm, Tipping has an extensive sporting background behind her, having had a scholarship to the University of South Alabama in the USA before earning a spot in the Australian women’s national volleyball program, and also played with Linköping volleyball club in Sweden. As a junior, Tipping also played soccer.
The 24-year-old had a delayed start to the season following a knee injury in her first VFLW match earlier this year, but with a few match scrimmages now to her credit, is ready to take on the challenge of her first AFLW game.
Geelong’s full AFLW Round 8 team will be announced at 5pm AEST tonight.
The Cats take on the Blues this Saturday at GMHBA Stadium at 3.05pm. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
The best way to catch the action in 2025 is as a Cats AFLW Member. Head to membership.geelongcats.com.au to join the Mighty Blue and White today.
