Geelong featured prominently throughout the 2025 Brownlow Medal, finishing with the most total votes of any team in the competition. 

Star midfielder, Bailey Smith lead the way with 29 votes, finishing third on the overall leaderboard while Jeremy Cameron and Max Holmes also polled strongly. 

Patrick Dangerfield broke another record to become one of the best players in the Medals history, while a quartet of emerging stars polled for the first time.

The Top Cat

In his first season at Geelong, Bailey Smith was recognised as one of the game's best players, polling 29 votes to finish third on the overall leaderboard. 

The superstar on-baller polled three-votes on six different occasions, finishing in the votes in 13 of his 20 games during the home and away season. 

Most Team Votes

As a team, Geelong polled more votes than any other team in the competition this year. 

The Cats finished on a total of 99 votes, with 13 different players polling at least one vote across the course of the year.

Danger the Record Breaker

Dangerfield had three records within reach heading into the 2025 Brownlow Medal, and the champion Cat successful took top spot in two of those categories by the end of the night. 

Polling three votes against Melbourne (Round 4) and Collingwood (Round 8), Dangerfield surpassed Gary Ablett Junior for the most games polling three votes in the history of the Brownlow. 

He has now also polled votes in 111 games across his career, passing Sam Mitchell for second place in that category and sitting just behind Ablett. 

With the eight votes he received in 2025, Dangerfield has now polled a total of 259 votes in his career, just three votes behind Ablett for the most by any player in the Medal's history.
