It all comes down to this.

The culmination of a long season boils down to the two top teams, with Geelong and Brisbane set to square off in Saturday's Grand Final.

The Cats have been brilliant all year long, finishing second on the ladder before rolling through their opening two Finals matches to book their spot on the last Saturday in September.

It will also mark the second meeting between the two teams in this year's Finals, with Geelong defeating Brisbane by 38 points in a Qualifying Final three weeks ago.

With plenty on the agenda this week, take a first look ahead to the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final, proudly presented by Villawood Properties.

2025 AFL Season - Grand Final

Geelong Cats v Brisbane Lions

MCG, Melbourne

Saturday September 27th, 2.30pm (AEST)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Geelong: Jack Martin

Games like these are the reason that Geelong recruited Jack Martin at the end of last year, with plenty of X-factor and the ability to break any game open in the blink of an eye.

Martin has been solid in his first year as a Cat, particularly since moving into the forward 50, kicking 12 goals across his last nine games and hitting the scoreboard in each of his last five appearances.

The Round 21 clash with Port Adelaide showed just how damaging he can be, kicking the quickest four-goal haul in the AFL this century and Geelong will hoping for that sort of production on the biggest stage this Saturday.

Brisbane: Harris Andrews

Brisbane's co-captain is a remarkable player, one of the few defenders in the league that can completely change the outcome of a game.

Andrews was sensational in the Lions Preliminary Final taking 13 marks, five of the intercept marks, finishing the match with nine intercept possessions and three score involvements.

He has hurt the Cats in past meetings but Geelong were able to nullify his impact in the Qualifying Final, keeping him to three intercept marks and eight marks total, his lowest total in the last six weeks.

Shannon Neale will likely get the matchup against Andrews once again, a crucial battle that will go a long way to deciding the 2025 AFL Premiers.

RECENT HISTORY - Geelong v Brisbane

This has been a fascinating battle in recent times, Geelong snapping a three game losing streak against the Lions with their dominant victory in the Qualifying Final.

Across the last 10 meetings between the two teams, both sides have won five times with five of those games decided by 11 points or less.

Geelong and Brisbane have also met in Finals four times in the past six seasons, with Geelong prevailing on three occasions.

VENUE HISTORY - MCG

Geelong continued their strong form at the MCG in Friday's Preliminary Final, now on a five game win streak at the venue dating back to the Round 8 clash with Collingwood.

The Cats have also won five of their past six Finals at the MCG, with those wins coming by an average margin of 45 points.

The trend also continues in regards to Geelong's dominance at the MCG in Premiership winning seasons. In the Cats four most recent premiership years (2007, 2009, 2011, 2022) they have a 28-2 record, but in all other years across that span they have a 49-40 record.

Geelong are 6-1 at the venue this year, and can take the record to 35-3 in Premiership winning seasons if they can beat the Lions on Saturday.
