Geelong have hit a nice vein of form over the past fortnight but there is no time to relax, with another crucial game looming on Sunday afternoon against Port Adelaide.

Entering the final month of the home and away season, the Cats remain in the top four but second place down to seventh on the ladder are still separated by just one game, setting up a grandstand finish heading towards September.

Coming off a comfortable 101 point win over North Melbourne on Saturday, Geelong will look to continue their momentum against Port Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium, a team they defeated by 76 points in Round 10 this year.

Take a look ahead at another big afternoon at the Cattery, proudly presented by Villawood Properties.

2025 AFL Season - Round 21

Geelong Cats v Port Adelaide

GMHBA Stadium, Geelong

Sunday August 3rd, 3.15pm (AEST)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Geelong: Mark O'Connor

Simply has not put a foot wrong in 2025, O'Connor continues to build a terrific campaign with the versatility to play a number of different roles as the team requires.

Playing more across half back in recent weeks, the Irishman has been able to lock down some dangerous forwards while still finding plenty of the footy himself, averaging 15 disposals and six marks per game this season.

At times he has been sent into the midfield and has been able to negate some of the opposition's top players, which will be interesting to watch this week against the likes of Zak Butters and Connor Rozee.

Port Adelaide: Jordon Sweet

The most dangerous aspect of Port Adelaide's game is their midfield and it starts in the ruck, with Jordon Sweet ranked fourth the competition for hit-outs per game this year, giving first use to his on-ballers.

Sweet has accumulated over 40 hit-outs in each of his last four games, winning four clearances and booting a goal in a strong performance against Adelaide last week despite the result.

The big ruckman did not feature in the Round 10 clash between the two sides, but he did play in the Qualifying Final last year and won 51 hit-outs to Rhys Stanley's 28, something the Cats will need to be wary of on Sunday.

RECENT HISTORY - Geelong v Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide did claim the four points in the last game at Kardinia Park however, defeating the Cats by six points in Round 9 last year.
