Ollie Dempsey's remarkable record at the MCG continued last Thursday night, with the star winger awarded a perfect 10 coaches' votes in Geelong's Round 21 victory over Collingwood. 

Able to utilise his elite running capacity and find ample space on the 'G, Dempsey was particularly influential early as he kicked two goals and took one stellar mark in the opening term, helping the Cats to build a big lead prior to half time. 

He went on to collect a career-high 29 disposals, while also taking 10 marks to go with six score involvements and five intercept possessions, another brilliant performance in what has been an incredible campaign so far for the 23-year-old. 

Star on-baller Bailey Smith received three votes for his outing on Thursday night which takes his season tally to 67 votes, surpassing Max Holmes for the most votes by any Geelong player in 2026. 

Another who put his incredible running prowess to good use, Smith worked through some close attention from Collingwood's midfield group to collect 28 disposals, nine clearances and eight inside 50s, consistently generating the Cats' ball movement throughout the night. 

Tom Stewart received two votes from the coaches for his typically stoic display across half back, picking off a team-high eight intercept possessions from his 25 disposals, helping to repel numerous Collingwood attacks. 

Oisin Mullin added another vote to his tally after a fascinating match-up with Nick Daicos, able to accumulate an equal team-high seven score involvements and going at 81% disposal efficiency to keep the Magpies star accountable defensively. 

Ollie Henry rounded out the votes after another brilliant outing that included three goals and two goal assists, taking his tally to 16 goals from six games against his former side. 

The AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
