Atkins on the Cats bouncing back from last week
It is pretty clear, we went in with a plan and we just didn't execute on that. It is disappointing for us as a line, but I feel like we have bounced back when we have had reviews like this.
It is just an opportunity for us to grow and to keep putting those building blocks on, and getting better as a midfield group. We are well aware that we didn't play that well, but it is really positive from us looking forward to getting a chance to show those things that we have learned.
I am definitely aware that there is a bit of a logjam up our end of the ladder, and we need to keep winning.
That is where the focus is, the Saints have had our measure the last couple of times we have played them.
We are not taking any games lightly.
Morrison on the start of the AFLW season
I think we have got about 30 days until the first game.
The Cats fans are always in good spirits and have got good energy, so I can't wait to play here in a couple weeks time.
Hopefully we have a pretty good year, I think it is getting to the point now where you are starting to play most teams which is nice.
We have got a tough fixture to start off the first couple rounds with North [Melbourne] and Adelaide, so hopefully we can set our season up really well.
Atkins on his new coaching role
I have just been a bit of a sounding board since they started their pre season.
It is an interest of mine, I wanted to see if I was any good and also wanted to work with people like Nina, Georgie and Amy. It has been really enjoyable, I am looking forward to seeing how they go this year.
I am very much just development, so when I am available I will get to training. At the moment I just do Tuesday nights, I work a bit with the mids behind the scenes but it will just be when I am available.
My priority is very much our season and going all the way.
Morrison on the focus for the Cats midfield group
I think we speak a lot about our contest work and winning contested footy.
We are pretty good with ball in hand and can move the footy pretty well in attack, but it just about winning that first possession or winning it back. That contest work is certainly a focus for us this year.
It is good to have a bit of depth in that ruck position, to have a few more players that can roll in and play that role now.
We are looking forward to hopefully playing alongside Caitie [Tipping] and Piper [Dunlop], Erica [Fowler] coming as well so it is really exciting for us.
Atkins on his coaching aspirations
It is what I wanted to find out, I haven't made my mind up about that yet.
Obviously if you want to coach in the AFL, you have got to be prepared to move interstate and I am not sure that is something I want to do to my family yet.
I am just testing the waters with a few different careers, knowing the end is pretty soon.
Morrison on Nathan Brown's addition to the coaching group
It has been great to have 'Browny' come in, obviously he has got a wealth of experience at AFL level as well.
He will be a great resource for us, alongside Tom to have players who have bee in the system before and understand from a playing lens what it is like.
That is always a valuable resource, so it will be great to have 'Browny' in the program.
