Guthrie on the Cats defensive unit

Sam [De Koning] is obviously a really important player for us, he is one that we depend on every week to play on those taller types.

He has been doing a really good job for us, but we have got a number of guys that can roll through that position.

'Blitz' played there late last year and obviously earlier in his career, he is able to fit in everywhere which is a nice luxury to have.

I think even having someone like a Connor O'Sullivan come in this year, to have confidence in someone like that to be able to fill the void and to play on those taller types will hold us in good stead as well. 

Guthrie on Saturday's performance

I think we did a pretty good job for most of the night.

I think we are gelling pretty well at the moment which is good, it is nice having Jack Henry and Tom Stewart back.

We missed them a bit earlier in the season, we will certainly miss De Koning but it is nice to have a group that is gelling well together.

It is nice having that confidence and that dependability on each other. 

Guthrie on the Cats position to attack the season

I think we are in a pretty good spot to attack the back half of the year.

We have got a huge game against Brisbane, the reigning premiers this week and they have been in some really good form throughout the year so far. They are right up there on the ladder for a reason, they were a really good side last year obviously going all the way.

We are looking forward to that challenge, then going into the bye and we are looking forward to attacking the back half of the year.

It seems like it will be a pretty open race for a lot of teams, which is exciting for fans and exciting for players but we know it is always a challenge.

It is never handed to you, you have to keep going about your processes throughout the week. 

Guthrie on the bye week

In the past I have done a couple of golf trips in the bye, which has been good with a few of the guys.

This year I am just going to hang around I think, just have a few quiet days.

It has felt like a pretty intense block up until this point, so we are really looking forward to this game and then keep going about our work.

We will have a few days off, but then really get ready to launch in the back half of the year.
