It is set to be an unmissable occasion on Friday night, as Geelong prepares to host the reigning premiers at GMHBA Stadium in a colossal battle between two heavyweights of the competition.
The Cats ascended into the top two on the ladder last week after comfortably defeating Essendon by 95-points at the MCG, their fifth consecutive win and 10th victory of the season.
Brisbane sit right behind Geelong in third position of the ladder, but the Lions have only won two of their last six matches and remarkably have not won a game at GMHBA Stadium since 2003.
This week's game will also be a chance to celebrate a pair of Geelong champions, with Patrick Dangerfield (350th AFL game) and Tyson Stengle (100th AFL game) both set to reach significant milestones on Friday night.
Take a first look ahead to Friday night's blockbuster clash, proudly presented by Villawood Properties.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Geelong: Patrick Dangerfield & Tyson Stengle
Two incredible players that have meant so much to Geelong fans for a number of years, Patrick Dangerfield and Tyson Stengle will both reach significant milestones on Friday night.
For the Cats captain, Dangerfield will become just the 25th player in V/AFL history to reach 350 games, adding another accolade to a resume that already includes a Premiership, a Brownlow Medal, eight All-Australians, three Carji Greeves Medals and so much more.
100 AFL games for Tyson Stengle is an extraordinary achievement, finding a home at Geelong after short stints with both Richmond and Adelaide. The crafty Cat is also a Premiership player and an All-Australian, widely regarded as one of the best small forwards in the competition.
Geelong fans will get the opportunity to celebrate both of these superstars on Friday night during the Cats clash with Brisbane.
Brisbane: Hugh McCluggage
While most of the focus in Brisbane's engine room goes to the likes of Lachie Neale and Josh Dunkley, Hugh McCluggage certainly demands just as much attention in the midst of a sensational 2025 campaign.
The impressive on-baller is averaging career-high's this year for disposals (26.9 per game), clearances (5.9) and inside 50's (6.1), while sitting second in the AFL for total goal assists and score involvements.
McCluggage accumulated 30 disposals and eight tackles when the two teams met earlier in the season at the Gabba, while also playing a damaging role with 27 possessions and a goal in last year's Preliminary Final.
RECENT HISTORY - Geelong v Brisbane
For a large portion of the 2000's and 2010's Geelong dominated this match-up, but the past five years it has proven to be a much closer, more unpredictable battle between two of the top teams in the competition.
Brisbane have won the most recent two clashes between the two sides, the Lions also holding a slight advantage with four wins from the past seven games dating back to the middle of 2021.
An interesting fact however is Geelong's dominance at home, winning the last 13 consecutive games against Brisbane at GMHBA Stadium in a period stretching back over the past two decades.
Remarkably the Lions last win at the venue came in 2003 when they claimed a 14 point victory, incredibly it was Chris Scott who kicked Brisbane's final goal in that game.

During the pre-season Geelong expressed their desire to turn GMHBA Stadium back into a fortress and they have certainly done that, winning four of five games at the venue this year and six of their last seven matches at home.
The Cats have an average winning margin of 39 points in their four victories at home this year, with their offensive prowess also on show scoring 100 points or more in four of their last six matches at GMHBA Stadium.
As mentioned previously, Geelong has won 13 consecutive games against Brisbane at the venue dating back to 2003, a streak they will be looking to extend on Friday night.
