Max Holmes has been awarded a perfect 10 coaches votes for the second consecutive week, as the Cats recorded a clean sweep of the votes in their Round 14 win over Essendon.
Lighting up the MCG with his run and carry, Holmes dominated on Saturday afternoon collecting 36 disposals and eight clearances, following on from his 40 disposal and 10 clearance performance against Gold Coast a week earlier.
The star Cat did a little bit of everything accumulating 10 entries inside 50, seven score involvements and seven intercept possessions, all while going at a very impressive 81% disposal efficiency.
Back to back 10 vote games have rocketed Holmes up into ninth place on the overall leaderboard, now sitting on 49 votes for the season.
In more exciting news, Bailey Smith has extended his lead at the top of the overall leaderboard after receiving another seven votes in Round 14.
Smith brought his own footy to the MCG amassing a game-high 41 disposals, while also adding nine inside 50 entries, nine score involvements and six centre clearances for good measure.
The seven votes takes the brilliant on-ballers tally to 66 votes for the season, now eight clear of Tristan Xerri (North Melbourne) and Jordan Dawson (Adelaide) in second place.
Jeremy Cameron also featured heavily on Saturday afternoon with a six goal haul and was recognised by the coaches, receiving seven votes to take his tally to 27 for the season, 26 of those coming in the last four weeks.
Sitting a half dozen clear on top of the Coleman Medal leaderboard, Cameron has booted 24 goals in his past five matches and sits just eight majors shy of reaching 700 career goals.
Across half back, Zach Guthrie (20 disposals, seven intercept possessions) and Tom Stewart (23 disposals, 16 marks) were both awarded two votes, Stewart becoming the 17th different Geelong player to receive a coaches vote in 2025.
Patrick Dangerfield (11 disposals, 10 score involvements) and Shannon Neale (13 disposals, four goals) rounded out the voting, each receiving one vote for their influential performances against the Bombers.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
