Geelong Cats will host four of its final eight games at GMHBA Stadium to finish the home and away season, with the AFL today releasing the fixture for Rounds 16-23 of the 2025 AFL Premiership Season.
The Cats will host Richmond (Round 17), St Kilda (Round 19), Port Adelaide (Round 21) and Essendon (Round 22) in exciting match-ups at GMHBA Stadium across the final two months of the season, with the match-up against the Bombers a primetime Friday night blockbuster to mark the Cats’ last home game of the season.
The Cats will also travel to Melbourne in Round 20 for Saturday night match against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
After a thrilling game against GWS Giants last Sunday, the Cats will also take on the Giants at ENGIE Stadium in Round 18 for a Saturday twilight game, before a second trip to New South Wales to face Sydney at the SCG in Round 23 on a Sunday afternoon.
The Round 24 game against Richmond at the MCG remains a floating fixture across the weekend of August 22-24, with the AFL set to confirm details at a later date.
Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Marcus King said the Club welcomed the eight-week fixture block.
“This next block of the fixture has delivered a really exciting mix of home games to look forward to with clashes against Richmond, St Kilda, Port Adelaide and Essendon,” King said.
“Across the eight rounds there is a great range of timeslots for our home games giving fans more options to attend the footy.
“The Friday night match against the Bombers at GMHBA Stadium is a genuine blockbuster as we host them in Geelong for the third time in five seasons, while there are also some great family-friendly games, including Sunday afternoon against Port Adelaide and St Kilda, providing families and kids a fun day out at the footy.
“From a performance perspective, our five and six-day turnarounds are balanced out with two eight-day breaks and a nine-day break, with a bye at Round 16 giving the team a 15-day break to tackle the back end of the season.
“For our members and fans in New South Wales, there’s an exciting opportunity to see the team play twice in this fixture block, with games against the Giants and the Swans, where we can’t wait to see the mighty blue and white in the stands at both ENGIE Stadium and the SCG.”
