Gary Rohan has taken great strides in his recovery and is nearing a return to play.
Geelong Cats Assistant General Manager – Football Brett Johnson said Rohan was expected to play at some level this weekend if he continued on his current trajectory.
“Gary has recovered from those back issues he was having and that were hampering him throughout pre-season,” Johnson said.
“If he gets through training this week, he will be available to play.”
Captain Patrick Dangerfield (hamstring) is also nearing a return and will be a test to return to the field this week for his first game since Round 2.
“Pat is looking really good. Everything has gone to plan so far with his rehab,” Johnson said.
“He had a really good session in Adelaide over the weekend. Pat will be in a similar boat, he’ll train this week and if he ticks everything off, he’ll be a test later in the week.”

Experienced Cats Zach Tuohy (ankle) and Jake Kolodjashnij (quad) are also tests after picking up minor concerns in Saturday’s win over the Western Bulldogs.
“Unfortunately throughout the game, Zach Tuohy just tweaked his ankle and was able to play out the game,” Johnson said.
“We expect him to train this week and be a test. ‘Kola’ (Kolodjashnij) late in the game had a bit of tightness in his quad. So as long as he gets through everything this week he’ll be as test as well to play against North Melbourne to play on Sunday.”
Cameron Guthrie returned to the main group for training last week as he continues to progress in his recovery from a quad injury.
“Cam is going really well. As I’ve said previously, he’s really professional in terms of the way he approaches his rehab,” Johnson said.
“We expect Cam to be available still in two-to-four weeks time.”
