Geelong Football Club is excited to announce a new partnership with Marathon Food Industries’ leading brand Marathon, Australia’s market leading producer of fun snacking products including Dim Sims, Spring Rolls, and Puffy Dogs.

For the next three years, Marathon’s great-tasting Asian-inspired products, made from fresh Australian ingredients, will feature in the newly completed Joel Selwood Stand and throughout GMHBA Stadium for Geelong Cats AFL and AFLW games.

In addition, Marathon will also feature prominently on the sleeve of the 2024 Cats men’s media polo.

Dim Sims were one of the highest sold items for the Cats’ 2023 match days and with this newly formed partnership, fans will have more access to what is a key part of their footy experience.

“We have a longstanding and ongoing commitment to our fans to continually enhance their experience when they come to watch the Cats play at GMHBA Stadium,” Geelong Football Club Chief Operating Officer Simon Kelleher said.

“Never has this commitment been more vital than in 2024 with the opening of the Joel Selwood Stand and the realisation of a 40,000 capacity GMHBA Stadium. Marathon empowers us to realise that promise and we can’t wait to embed Marathon’s industry-leading quality products into our Geelong hospitality offering.”

Coincidentally founded in a Cats Premiership year, Marathon was established in 1963 by Jack Dardalis who handmade his first batches of Dim Sims and Spring Rolls in a West Footscray garage.

61 years on, Marathon will be delivering on its purpose ‘to provide Australians with tasty and high-quality snack foods’ for the Cats games of the 2024 AFL and AFLW Season.

“Throughout our 61-year journey we have had deep-seated connections with local communities, farmers, and grassroots sporting organisations. We have a commitment to support these groups and provide high-quality, enjoyable products to the broader sporting community. This exciting new partnership with one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations allows us to further strengthen this commitment,” Marathon Foods Managing Director Jenny Dardalis said.
