Geelong will field a quartet of new faces in Sunday's opening round clash with Richmond at GMHBA Stadium.

In her third season and second stint at AFLW level, Mia Skinner is set to make her long-awaited debut. A known goalkicker who loves a contest, the 21-year-old is straight into the team off the back of an impressive VFLW season and strong AFLW pre-season.

Recruits Mikayla Bowen, Shelley Scott and Jackie Parry have all also been named to play their first game in the hoops.

Bowen has been named on the wing, complementing a centre line of Nina Morrison and Georgie Prespakis, while Parry will slot into the half-forward line.

Scott, who is set to play her 50th AFLW game, has been named to start on the bench.

Annabel Johnson will make a welcome return to defence. Johnson impressed over her first four games in the AFLW last season, before a foot fracture brought about a premature end to her season.

But after a solid pre-season and first hit-out in Geelong's practice match against Gold Coast a fortnight ago, Johnson will reclaim her spot in defence.

Swing player Claudia Gunjaca looks set to make her home in defence in Season 7, named in the backline, while a strong pre-season sees the versatile Georgia Clarke earn her spot in the 21.

Defender Maddy Keryk, midfielder Laura Gardiner and ruck Kalani Scoullar have been named the Cats' emergencies.
