Isaac Smith has delivered in the big moments for the Hawks and now he is hoping to achieve the same success as a Cat.

A triple premiership winner at Hawthorn, Smith was recruited to the Cats in the offseason for this exact reason, to play a role in helping Geelong win its first premiership since 2011.

Speaking to K rock Football, Smith says he hopes his experience can have a positive impact on his teammates in the build-up to Geelong’s qualifying final against Port Adelaide on Friday night.

“I think it is a bit around the experience and communication, no moment is too big,” Smith said on what role he can play this week.”

The 231-game player also emphasised the importance of staying in the moment and not dwelling on a mistake as every player’s moment will come.

“I know every teammate that I’ve played with, they’ve had their moment and their opportunity, so you can’t get hung up on what happened especially in a final and you’ve just got to move on.

“I know it’s pretty simple but just worry about the next contest and your moment will come.”
