Australia's best network.
A key defender who can pinch-hit in the ruck or swing forward if needed, Mel Bragg’s growth as an AFLW footballer continues. The former Super Netballer only picked up a Sherrin seriously for the first time in early 2022 when she joined Geelong’s VFLW program as an other sport recruit, but has shown great development across the state and national leagues. After making two appearances at the top level in her debut AFLW season, Bragg added a further seven appearances in 2023, playing as a lockdown defender. With great aerial skills and a good ability to read the play, Bragg can also play a rebounding role across half-back.

Geelong Football Club acknowledges Wadawurrung as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land on which our club, our families and our communities work and play. We pay our respects to Elders of the past, the present, and those that will lead their collective future. Kardinyu, in Wadawurrung language is the place of the morning sun, a place of deep cultural connection and significance, a meeting place since the beginning of time. We are honoured to walk with the Wadawurrung People, to listen, respect and talk together on our journey on Wadawurrung Country.
