No stranger to the blue and white Hoops, Geelong signed Next Generation Academy product, Jesse Mellor as a Category B Rookie for the 2026 AFL season. 

An exciting forward that can also play through the midfield, Mellor possesses a strong pair of hands and a brilliant goal sense, helping him to be a consistent threat around the ground. 

While featuring for Vic Country and Geelong Falcons throughout 2025, Mellor also played for Geelong's VFL team, making his debut at the level in Round 18 against North Melbourne. 

A fortnight later, Mellor collected 17 disposals and two goals in the Cats' victory over Essendon, giving an exciting glimpse of his potential and what lies ahead.
