Jordan Clark says he has never wavered in his desire to be a Geelong Cats footballer.

After a case of injuries and the second-year blues resulted in Clark lining up with the senior side just three times last season, rumours swirling approaching last year’s trade period.

The Cats’ speedster says despite discussing his options with those closest to him, he was always committed to winning his spot back in the side.

“There was definitely no uncertainty, the decision was in my hands and I definitely felt comfortable with where I was at,” Clark says.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have any conversations with anyone and the people close to me, I had a few conversations but I’m still here and I was pretty confident through that period.”

The third-year Cats attributes his turnaround in fortunes to a hard offseason of pounding the pavement.

“At the end of the year I went away and we spoke about working on a few things and it pretty much all resulted to being out there and having a bit more of a base of fitness to get around,” he says.

“Just getting a bit stronger and those sorts of things, starting to know my game a bit better and develop a few different roles, on the wing and that sort of stuff.

Clark says he’s happy to play anywhere to keep his place in the side.

“The last couple of weeks I’ve played a few different roles and it’s something I’m prepared to do for the side.

“I don’t mind getting thrown around wherever, as long as I’m out there it’s all that matters to me.”
