The Geelong Football Club has announced that Justin Andrews has joined the club’s board as an appointed director. Andrews, the Managing Director Oakley South Pacific and Luxottica Wholesale, joins the board with immediate effect.
 
The 40 year old Andrews brings a long history of success in sales and marketing. For the past four years Andrews has been charged with overseeing the sales, distribution, marketing of 30 brands for the South Pacific Region, with head offices based in the United States and Europe.
 
In 2011 Andrews successfully led the integration of the Oakley and Luxottica businesses into one entity. Luxottica brands include Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vogue and Persol. It also makes sunglasses and prescription frames for a multitude of designer brands such as Chanel and Prada, whose designs and trademarks are used under license. Luxottica also makes sunglasses branded Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Stella McCartney, Versace, Miu Miu, Tory Burch, and Donna Karan.
 
“We are obviously excited by the business expertise and acumen that Justin brings to the board,” Cats president Colin Carter said.
 
“But more importantly, Justin has the values and integrity that we see as critical to the on-going success of the club. He has a long association with the Cats and has the passion and drive that is needed to take on such a critical position. We expect Justin will be a valuable contributor to our club as a board member for many years.”
 
Andrews is excited by the prospect of helping the club have further success in the future.
 
“It is an honour and a lifetime dream to be invited to be on the board of what I believe to be one of the best sporting organisation in Australia,” Andrews said. “To work closely with Colin, Brian, the rest of the board and all of the staff is very exciting and I look forward to bringing some new ideas and point of view to the already dynamic team”
 
Andrews graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Commerce, and is based in Geelong with his wife Amanda and two children. He and the family are long-time members of the club and they attend Cats games most weeks.
 
He also had a long career in local football, turning out over 200 times for Geelong Amateurs, where he won the best & fairest in 1995 and was runner up in the Bellarine Football League Les Ash medal.
 
Andrews has switched his attention to marathon running and also enjoys golf, music and skiing.
