Geelong has one more game at GMHBA Stadium and a double-header with an AFL match to look forward to after the fixture for the final three rounds of the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Season was released.

The Cats will head over to Mineral Resources Park in Western Australia for their Round 7 clash with the West Coast Eagles on Sunday, March 14, before hosting the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS at GMHBA Stadium for Round 8 on Saturday, March 20.

The final round of the AFLW competition will see the AFLW Cats take on Gold Coast Suns on Saturday, March 27 as part of a double-header with the AFL match between the Suns and North Melbourne.

AFL General Manager Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said she was pleased to be able to confirm arrangements for the remaining matches of the home-and-away season and maintained the league would continue to take the advice of governments and health officials.

“The commitment remains to complete the season and award a premier. We are thrilled with the season so far and are pleased to be able to confirm matchups for the final three rounds of the home-and-away season,” Ms Livingstone said.

“We have and will continue to remain adaptable as we work closely with each stakeholder to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome for everyone in the game.

“While COVID-19 continues to impact the community, the health and welfare of our players and the community remains the priority and we remain committed to delivering a full season in a safe manner led by respective governments, public health officials and medical experts.

“On behalf of the AFL, I want to again thank all clubs, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticket agents and our broadcast and commercial partners for their understanding and continued support of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

“I also want to acknowledge the ongoing support from the AFLW football community this season through memberships, attendances and broadcasts.”

Following the nine-round home and away season, the top six teams will participate in a three-week finals series, culminating in a Grand Final on the weekend of April 17-18.
