The accolades continue to roll in for the Hawkins family with father-son duo Jack and Tom Hawkins in contention to be named in the inaugural AFL NSW Hall of Fame.

Tom has already qualified by virtue of his selection in last year’s Greatest NSW Team.

The 32-year-old won his first Coleman Medal this season and will be hoping to add a premiership medal to the two he won with the Cats back in 2009 and 2011.

Tom became just the third Cat to kicked 600 career goals last round and currently has 275 senior appearances to his name.

Jumping Jack will look to join his son after receiving a nomination.

Jack played 182 games for Geelong between 1973 and 1981.

He earned the nickname ‘Jumping Jack’ not long after joining the club following his success at Geelong Grammar where he was a champion high jumper.

Unlike his son Tom, Jack made his name as a rebounding defender and was renowned for his vertical leap and ability to take marks on the last line of defence.

Jack kicked 20 career goals and represented the VFL against Tasmania in 1979.

In 2020, AFL NSW/ACT established the New South Wales Australian Football Hall of Fame to commemorate the 140 year anniversary of the NSW Australian Football Association.

Inductees of the NSW Australian Football Hall of Fame may cover all levels of football in New South Wales, from the elite to the community, and includes players, coaches, umpires, administrators and media representatives.
