Cameron Guthrie has moved up to 12th overall in AFL Coaches' Association's AFL Champion Player Award after receiving 10 votes for his efforts in Geelong's 32-point win against Fremantle on Monday night.

Guthrie recorded a game-high 30 disposals, seven clearances and six tackles in the Round 8 victory.

His clean hands in wet conditions stood out, with the 27-year-old receiving maximum votes for the second time this year.

Zach Tuohy received seven votes from Chris Scott and Justin Longmuir for his 26-disposal game. The Irishman played higher up the ground against the Dockers and did a great job driving the ball inside 50, finishing with an equal game-high five entries inside Geelong's attacking arc.

Playing a similar role to Tuohy, Sam Menegola earned five votes after leading the way for the Cats for metres gained (587m) and winning 26 disposals.

Mark Blicavs and Mitch Duncan rounded out the vote getters for the Cats with four and one votes respectively.

Rated the best player on the ground according to Champion Data, Blicavs was the dominant big man on the night.

He collected a game-high 10 clearances and used the ball brilliantly, operating at 84.2% efficiency from 19 disposals.
