Quinton Narkle in action against Collingwood.

The AFL has today announced the fixture for Round 7 of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Geelong will host Collingwood at Optus Stadium in Perth as the first of the WA hubs games kicks off a Friday night blockbuster on July 17.

The AFL confirmed on Thursday the Cats and Pies would head to Perth to play that match and subsequent games against West Coast and Fremantle, as part of the next phase of AFL fixturing to work around the extraordinary constraints related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AFL General Manager of Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said Round Seven of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season was set to be one the best of the season so far.

“As good as the match ups are in Round 6, it was really constructed with an eye on setting up Round Seven, in not only allowing Geelong, Collingwood, Fremantle and the West Coast Eagles to fly to Perth for the next iteration of the hubs, but also with key match ups in every timeslot across the round.” Mr Auld said.

“Once again on behalf of the AFL, we thank the Adelaide Crows, Fremantle, Port Adelaide and the West Coast Eagles for their patience and support in the Queensland high performance centres over recent weeks, along with the Collingwood and Geelong football clubs for their support as we continue to work through the most unique period our game has faced.”
