Geelong CEO Brian Cook is undertaking a course at Harvard University in Boston, however the Cats leader was well away from the bomb blast that rocked the city.

Cook was on campus and in class when two bombs exploded near the end of the Boston marathon. The Harvard campus sits about five kilometres from scene.

There are reports of multiple casualties and injuries on a sad day for the city and for sport.
