Aaron Black will captain the Bendigo Bank Cats once again in 2020.

Black was a popular choice to skipper Geelong’s VFL side after he did a terrific job in the role last year.

“Aaron was outstanding in the role last year and it was a unanimous decision amongst players and coaches for him to be re-appointed as captain again this year,” VFL Coach Shane O’Bree said.

Black will lead a four-main leadership group that will also include Callum Mitchell, Dan Capiron and Teia Miles.

Capiron and Mitchell are both entering their fourth year at the club having played 25 and 23 games respectively since 2017.

“Both players epitomise the club values and understand the VFL program.”

Miles recently joined the Cats program after five years on Hawthorn’s AFL list. Miles played 12 AFL games and was a member of Box Hill’s premiership in 2018.

The 23-year-old is set to play an important on field leadership role and mentor some of Geelong’s emerging talent.

The Bendigo Bank Cats will be in action in Colac on Monday in a preseason practice match against Essendon starting at 1.20pm.
