Geelong has announced its 24 player squad for Saturday morning’s official practice match against the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval at 10.30am.

It’s the first and only opportunity for the public to view this year’s squad in a structured match prior to the upcoming AFLW season.

Four of the club’s new recruits have been named including father-daughter pick Millie Brown who impressed in last week’s match simulation against Melbourne Demons.

Captain Melissa Hickey explained that this weekend’s game was a good opportunity for players and coaches to go through their pre-game routines before Round 1 against Fremantle on February 9.

“It’s just a great opportunity to practice all that stuff sort of leading into the game, so getting the warm up right, the messaging and the mindset for the players,” said Hickey.

“Last weekend against Melbourne was more match simulation and we’re really calling this one a practice match this weekend so it’s time to sharpen up.”

Entry to Saturday’s practice match is free.
