Geelong’s seven new arrivals were today presented with their jumper numbers for the 2020 season.

Boom recruits Jack Steven and former Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins will wear the numbers nine and 11 respectively.

Four-time St Kilda best and fairest Steven takes over the number nine from Zac Smith who returned to the Gold Coast Suns during the most recent trade period.

Jenkins will wear the number 11 made available by Tim Kelly who was traded to West Coast at the end of the 2019 season.

Geelong’s first pick in this year’s NAB National Draft, Cooper Stephens, will wear the number 12 worn most recently by Wylie Buzza. Buzza was picked up by Port Adelaide following the 2019 season as a delisted free agent.

The Cats’ second draft pick 201cm Sam De Koning will wear the number 16 made famous by Billy Brownless who wore the number for 12 seasons between 1986-97. The number 16 was most recently worn by Scott Selwood who is now a development coach at Collingwood.

Small forward Francis Evans will take over the number 31 from Jordan Cunico and Cam Taheny will wear 41 made available by Jamaine Jones.

Glenelg recruit Brad Close will wear the number 45 guernsey worn famously by club great Cameron Ling who played 246 games in the jumper. Ryan Abbott most recently wore the number 45 before being picked up by St Kilda as a delisted free agent.
