Rebecca Maddern was announced as the Cats’ No. 1 ticket holder at the club’s season launch at Crown Palladium on Tuesday night.

The Channel 7 news presenter and personality has been the joint No. 1 ticket holder since 2011 but will this year take on the role solo.

"As a club, we are really pleased to have named Bec our 2016 No. 1 ticket holder," Geelong Cats Chief Executive Brian Cook said.

"Bec is a great friend of our players, coaches and staff and we love her passion and enthusiasm."

Originally from Geelong, Maddern has been an avid Cats fan her whole life.

"I am truly honoured and delighted to be offered this position by the best club in the AFL," Maddern said.

"I'm a lifelong cat, this club is my biggest passion and I'm very excited about the next couple of seasons ahead.

"I believe we can achieve great things, it's a privilege to be part of it."

Maddern will continue to host club events throughout the season as part of her role as No. 1 ticket holder.
