Darcy Fort has been named to make his AFL debut against the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday at 4.35pm.

Fort is one of two changes to this week’s team with skipper Joel Selwood also named in Geelong’s final 22.

Recruited with selection 68 in the 2018 national draft, Fort has had a longer journey than most, but finally gets his chance on the big stage.

The South Barwon and Geelong Falcons product had stints at three state league clubs – Werribee, Footscray and most recently three years with Central District in Adelaide.

The 25-year-old has been in terrific form for the Bendigo Bank Cats playing predominantly in attack.

He has kicked three goals in each of his past two VFL outings, while also providing support in the ruck.

Fort replaces Esava Ratugolea who has been managed, while Charlie Constable has been omitted.

Constable, Ratugolea, James Parsons and Ryan Abbott have been named emergencies.

Gates will open at GMHBA Stadium from 12.30pm on Saturday, with Geelong College and Geelong Grammar featuring in a curtain raiser from 1pm.

Geelong members will receive a double discount at the Cats Shop prior to 3pm.
