The Yarra Park Precinct will come alive this Sunday for the annual Powercor Country Festival Farmers Market from 11am.

The FREE event will take place prior to Geelong’s round seven blockbuster against Essendon at the MCG from 3.20pm.

The festival will feature more than 40 stallholders showcasing the best food and wine from across regional Victoria.

Sticks & Bones Barbeque will be serving their popular platter which consists of a beef rib, smoked sausage and smoked corn.

The Food Purveyor has been involved with the Powercor Country Festival for the last four years and their Managing Director, Nicole Newman, is excited by the opportunity to bring a taste of the country to the city.

“This is our fourth year being involved in the Powercor Country Festival and for us it is really important to showcase all of the produce from the region and to showcase what people are capable of in regional Victoria,” Newman said.

“There is close to 50 stallholders again this year and 80% of those come from around the Geelong region, we have people like Sticks and Bones Barbeque, we have people making donuts, chocolate makers and of course ourselves showcasing our range of amazing produce – so people will be able to really come in, try lots of local produce and take some home at the same time.”

The festival will also include plenty of activities for the whole family including an animal farm and pony rides, as well as live entertainment from Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, The Mik Maks and Adelaide Clark at the main stage.
