Geelong returns home for a Thursday night blockbuster in Round 7, as they prepare to take on Hawthorn at GMHBA Stadium. 

The Cats are in excellent form, having recorded five consecutive victories to ascend to third position on the ladder, with a chance to solidify their spot in the top four this week. 

Across the final six games of the regular season, the Cats only face two opponents currently sitting in the top eight including Hawthorn, who are in strong form in their own right.

The Cats are in sparkling form and in the midst of their best start to an AFLW season, currently holding a 5-1 record and sitting in third position on the ladder. 

After falling to North Melbourne in Round 1, Geelong have reeled off five consecutive victories and are playing a stellar brand of football, with an average winning margin of 35 points. 

Their attacking flair has been sensational, scoring the second most points of any team in the competition so far this year, while recording 57 points or more in each of their last five games. 

Hawthorn have followed a similar trend to the Cats, losing their opening game of the season before winning four of their next five, which includes an impressive win over North Melbourne last week. 

LAST TIME WE MET

The two sides squared off 12 months ago in an enthralling clash at GMHBA Stadium, with the Cats taking up the challenge to Hawthorn but ultimately falling seven points short. 

Geelong led at every change and held a game-high 16-point buffer early in the third term, but the Hawks finished with a flurry and kicked the final three goals of the game to seal the deal. 

Georgie Prespakis was electric all night, collecting a team-high 25 disposals, 10 tackles and six score involvements, while Amy McDonald (24 disposals) and Nina Morrison (21 disposals) were also strong. 

Rachel Kearns was strong in defence with seven intercept possessions, while Aishling Moloney added two goals and six score involvements.
