Ollie Henry's brilliant performance in Friday's Semi-Final defeat has earned recognition from the coaches, with the emerging talent receiving a team-high six votes in the 2026 Gary Ayres Award. 

Having a profound impact against the Dockers, Henry was absolutely brilliant under pressure and booted a game-high five goals at Optus Stadium, also a career-high in his 109th AFL game. 

Henry also collected a career-high 20 disposals in the Semi-Final, recording eight score involvements in a terrific outing. 

It caps off what has been a stellar season for the 24-year-old, with Henry kicking 48 goals for the season, the second-most at Geelong, only four goals behind Shannon Neale. 

Zach Guthrie also featured in the votes in Geelong's Semi-Final, following an outstanding display that helped the Cats to stem the flow at crucial stages of the game, particularly in the opening half. 

Able to put himself in strong positions defensively, Guthrie picked off an equal game-high eight intercept possessions and five intercept marks, also going at 88.9% disposal efficiency which is a remarkable feat in a big Final. 

The Gary Ayres Award is presented in recognition of the player who has been adjudged the best through the finals series, as voted by the coaches. Grand Final votes will receive a 1.5 times loading.
