Two Geelong VFLW stars have been recognised for their brilliant 2026 seasons, with Annie Lee and Lucy Marescuk selected in the initial squad for the VFLW Team of the Year.

Recognising the best players across the course of a season, the VFLW Team of the Year selects the top performers and most talented players from the 2026 campaign, with the initial squad then whittled to a final team of 21 players.

The final team of 21 players will be named at the 2026 VFL and VFLW Awards on Monday, September 14. The event will be streamed live and free on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App from 7:00pm.

Annie Lee was a brilliant leader for the Cats both on and off the field this year, featuring in 14 games while averaging 18.2 disposals and 4.8 tackles per game.

Lee's exquisite form saw her signed as a replacement player ahead of the 2026 AFLW season, before making her club debut in last week's victory over Essendon.

Marescuk was among the Cats' best players each week, also playing in 14 matches and averaging 19.9 disposals, 6.6 tackles and 3.4 inside 50s per game.

While she pieced together a number of terrific performances throughout the season, perhaps the best came in Round 9 when Marescuk collected a career-high 30 disposals and 10 marks against Tasmania.

The duo were instrumental in Geelong's VFLW campaign, helping them to finish the home-and-away season on a five-game winning streak, with plenty of momentum to build on heading into next year.Â
