Stinear on Geelong's position

It feels like we have found our feet since Round 1, there were some good lessons early.

Still plenty of room for growth, but certainly from where we started to where we are now, pleased with the group. I think our stoppage and contest is tracking well, offensively we are showing good signs of improvement.

Probably our team defence, if you look at our points against, that is an area that we are going to have to sharpen up on.

Obviously they all intertwine and live together, but certainly part of our game we think we can sharpen up on, and we are going to need to, to beat a team like Adelaide. 

Stinear on Adelaide

I thought even the game last week provided a good contrast.

The first half was very much on their terms, they were able to pressure Hawthorn into mistakes and then make them pay off the back of it. Eight goals from turnover, they moved the ball really well from the back half.

Chelsea Biddell was at her absolute best, then it seemed like they have got a little bit more run with the team they have got now, maybe not as contest heavy but can definitely hurt you on the outside. But then Hawthorn seemed to find their feet in the second half and the game balanced out a bit more.

We are going to have to be on, we are going to need to be composed under the pressure that Adelaide apply, then we are going to have to use the ball smartly.

You can't just blaze away and allow their defenders to intercept and kick start their offence, but we are looking forward to and it is going to be a really good contest.  

Stinear on Piper Dunlop

Piper has a unique injury.

The risk of further damage is limited, it might still be a little bit sore, but it doesn't limit a lot of her movement.

We will test that out today and pending her being able to get through today's session and pull up well tomorrow, she is a chance to be available for the weekend.

If not this weekend, you would think she wouldn't be too far away. 

Stinear on Chloe Scheer

She is fun to watch.

Teammates love playing with her, she is really consistent and you know what you are going to get. Her strength in the contest and then her ability to finish in key moments, but then also he selflessness with creating scoring opportunities for others.

It has been great to see her back playing footy, obviously have admired her from a far for a number of years. So I am am rapt for her and her teammates to be able to play with her.

Then now it is about that dynamic. On the weekend it looked like Aishling was the one that was most dangerous and being able to isolate her deep at times, then giving Scheery the flexibility to move up the ground.

As she keeps continuing with her match fitness, it means we can explore some more positional versatility. Where as early on, it was probably just keeping her deep, but now we are in a good position to be able to explore a bit further.
