Miers on Friday night in Perth

We are really excited, as you would expect.

This time of year brings out the fun times of footy, and it was a really pleasing victory on the weekend.

Fremantle have been a scary proposition all year, so to play them in Freo is going to be a challenge.

But I think it is the way you want to win premierships is beating the best, so hopefully we can do that. 

Miers on his own form

Confidence is 100%. Body is feeling as good as it has felt this year, then it is more getting my role and style right for the games.

I felt like I was doing quite well on the weekend with that, and I have had differing things throughout the year go good and bad.

The games that I want to get right are this week, then hopefully a couple more after that.

I think I am in a position to do that well, so I am happy with how it is going. 

Miers on the mental side of his injury

That has probably been the hardest part throughout it all, questioning if I am making the right decision and doing the right things.

Anytime I have tried to take a step back in recovery, something has kind of gone wrong. So it is keeping me accountable to stay on top of all that.

But as soon as I go out to train today or start to play, all that goes out the window. I feel like I have built the resilience that I would way rather be in this position training and playing, than recovering from the operation.

If that happens, so be it, but I am pretty grateful to just be out there and taking those days as a blessing, rather than the scare factor. 

Miers on Patrick Dangerfield's performance

I have been pretty lucky that I have played 150 games or so like that, to have him by my side which is pretty special.

I kind of expect nothing less, so that is the good part.

Even when you are out there, until he had those moments in the last quarter, I didn't really notice how incredible he actually was because I expect that from him.

I am very grateful to be alongside those players, and I have a lot of those teammates as well that may not get the kudos that Pat gets, but they are all doing amazing things out there. 

Miers on Geelong's versatility

I think it definitely causes some unpredictability for other teams.

For myself, I kind of deal with what is in front of me and who is around me.

I think it definitely helps when you get continuity, playing with players for a long period. I had the same forward six or seven for the last six weeks, so then that helped build that continuity and balance.

It meant that we didn't need to force 'Jezza' into there, we can use him in different ways and I think that has really worked.
