Scott on Friday night's game

The last three quarters were good, I thought we were outplayed early in the game.

Without being pessimistic, we knew that there were going to be periods within the game that they would have the ascendancy. Their form has been red hot, and I don't want to say too much, but they have some players that would trouble any team.

I don't need to explain it to you I'm sure, and the last couple of times we played them, those guys in and around the ball were a real handful for us.

That was the way the game was playing out early, really right from the start.

So to arrest that and change the way the game was played, even with the rain coming in, was pleasing.

Scott on Shaun Mannagh and Gryan Miers

Those guys are mainly forwards, but Mannagh certainly has been pushing up more into the midfield.

At stages I think he is a really good wet weather player, he is sort of becoming a good Marvel player, a good Geelong player, a good everywhere player. He is really handy for us.

Gryan's running power in particular late in the game as the game opened up, was really influential.

Those guys were good for us.

Scott on continuing the momentum next week

We are really confident.

Thinking about the reasons why we should be confident, we put a lot of thought into, and we have for a long period and probably the whole time I have been at Geelong, the way we think about managing our list dominates a lot of our time.

Sometimes it works really well, sometimes it doesn't quote work out, but it is never because of a flippant decision.

Paddy is a good example, he is understands the way we think about it and obviously he drives that sort of decision-making process as well. He has had a number of problems this year that he has had to overcome, and in his words, he feels like he is coming good at the right time.

If we don't perform well next week, it won't be through a lack of thought or some impediment in our preparation.

Scott on Dangerfield

Late he was just so impressive.

It wasn't just one way too, we thought Weitering is a really good player and we were playing a way that probably helped him a little bit, earlier in the game.

Then when we were able to change it a little bit, it wasn't just Pat on Weitering, I don't think it was that way for long at all. It looked like Pat at his best.

Scott on Wiltshire

We actually were talking as a coaching group about him post-game. He had a little foot issue that meant he missed the Richmond game.

I think I have said publicly a few times, that we found it really challenging to pick this team. We had a few players that I am really uncomfortable leaving out of the team.

Having said that, Oli just had to play, he has been going so well for us. We had so much confidence that he would perform on the big stage, given the way he was going.

He is still early in his career, but he is important for us and he was great.Â
