Geelong Cats premiership player Mark Blicavs has signed a one-year contract extension, committing to a 15th AFL season in the Hoops.

The extension follows a milestone season for Blicavs, who earlier this year became just the eighth player in Geelong history to play 300 AFL games, and broke the league record for the most games by a player off the rookie list.

Blicavs made his debut in Round 1, 2013 and has since gone on to become one of the competition's most versatile and durable players. Across his 14 seasons to date, Blicavs has become a Premiership player, a dual Carji Greeves medallist, an All Australian and a Geelong life member.

Blicavs' versatility and ability to play anywhere on the ground has been a feature of his career, spending time in the ruck, midfield, defence and on the wing across 313 games.

In 2026, Blicavs has continued to play an important role for the Cats, averaging 13.6 disposals and 10 hit-outs from 18 matches.

Blicavs is set to play his 30th Finals game on Friday night when the Cats take on Carlton in the First Elimination Final at the MCG.

The Cats will play Carlton on Friday night, 7.40pm, at the MCG in the First Elimination Final of the 2026 AFL Finals series.
