Scott on the magnet shifts on Saturday night

I think Jeremy in particular was a win for us tonight.

It was obviously more than match practice, but having not played for quite a while, it was good to see him covering the ground well.

He was always going to be right for the Finals, but the preference was to get some footy into him before our first Final. I think we ticked that box.

Shaun played a little bit more midfield last week as well, but he is in really good form and has been for a while. He is an important part of the way we play.

The other one in that category was Dangerfield, his second game back and he looked really sharp.

I think collectively, we go into a Finals series feeling good about our game, not overconfident. But we feel like we have given ourselves a chance to have a really good swing at it.

Scott on Geelong's form against the top teams

We have had a tough draw, and the draw is unusual for a number of reasons.

But we were going through a patch of the draw through that period where we were playing all the very good teams in the competition. Even the Brisbane game down here where we had a terrible first quarter, we won the next three quarters but weren't good enough to get over the line.

There were other ones where we were well and truly in the game, I think we lost by a point to Adelaide in Adelaide.

I didn't think the form line was too bad, it feels like we have played most of those teams twice and have at least a 50% record against all of them, maybe lost by a point to Hawthorn.

Again, not overconfident, but I don't think we would go into a game against any of those teams thinking that our best wouldn't trouble them.

Scott on Mitch Edwards

It has been a good season, for a 20-year-old ruckman, they are quite rare.

Those guys who hold down the number one spot, right throughout the season.

To us, it looks like he is actually improving. He is far from that young ruckman who looks like he is fatiguing towards the end of the season, if anything he is getting better.

He looked really athletic tonight, he has been a win for us and I think he is going to get a lot better too. It is really exciting for everyone.

Scott on Geelong's forward structure

Yeah I think that is right, we are not saying that we have sorted our structure ahead of the ball and there is no room for Jeremy.

But those guys are performing well for us and I think your observation is right, it gives us an extra option to play Jeremy a bit more up the ground, without having to depend on him deep.

That has been a win for us as well, I know it is a cliche, but sometimes you run into some obstacles and it forces you to do some things that you might not have done otherwise.

Polkinghorne getting his chance after playing really well at VFL level for a long period of time, and Ollie Henry is in really good form too.

Adding Jeremy to that mix is obviously enticing for us, but I do like him up the ground. He can do some things that not many other players can.Â
