Geelong Cats captain Patrick Dangerfield will play into a 20th AFL season having re-signed with the Club for 2027.
Since joining Geelong from Adelaide at the end of 2015, Dangerfield has played 374 AFL games, including 220 games in the Hoops across his 12 seasons at the Cats.
Captain of the Club since 2023, on Friday night Dangerfield will play his 375th AFL game, drawing level with Craig Bradley in 11th position on the all-time VFL/AFL games played list.
Renowned as one of the best and most damaging midfielders across his career, Dangerfield has spent more time as a forward since 2025, kicking 48 goals since the start of last season.
A key member of Geelong's 2022 premiership side, Dangerfield’s decorated career includes a Brownlow Medal, eight All-Australians, AFLPA MVP Award, AFLPA Player of the Year, plus he is a three time Geelong Carji Greeves Medallist.
Geelong Cats Executive General Manager Football Andrew Mackie said Dangerfield's ongoing commitment reflected the value he continues to bring to the Club.
"It's exciting for us all to have Pat playing for the Cats in 2027. He continues to lead from the front and remains an important player and person within our football program," Mackie said.
"Pat drives high standards, cares deeply about the Club and has a positive influence on everyone around him, so we're pleased to see him continue his career into 2027.”
